About Dr. Nikos Oikonomou
Dr. Nikolaos (Nikos) Oikonomou, MD, MSc, PhD is a General Practitioner / Family Physician based in Gennadi, South Rhodes (Rhodes, Greece), providing comprehensive primary care. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens, completed specialty training in General Practice/Family Medicine (Konstantopouleio General Hospital of Athens and the Vyronas Health Centre), and holds an MSc in Public Health & Health Services Management from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, as well as a PhD from the University of Athens with a focus on primary care/health centre performance. Dr. Oikonomou has significant experience in community and emergency care, including seven years as a Consultant GP at the Gennadi Health Centre and involvement in telemedicine and health-promotion initiatives. Alongside his clinical work, he teaches health services management at the Hellenic Open University and serves on the board of the Rhodes Medical Association.
